Indications:
Prevenar 13 ®️ (Pneumococcal 13-valent Conjugate Vaccine [Diphtheria CRM 197 Protein ]) is a vaccine approved for adults 18 years of age and older for the prevention of pneumococcal pneumonia and invasive disease caused by 13 Streptococcus pneumoniae strains (1, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F, and 23F).
Doses:
Children above 4 months
First Dose – 4 months of age
Second Dose – 6 months of age
Third Dose – 12 months of age
Children aged 12 to 23
months:
First Dose – On elected date
Second Dose – 2 months from first dose
Adults and Children aged 2 to 17
years:
One Dose
Side Effects:
- Redness, swelling, a hard lump, soreness, bruising or itching around the injection sides.
- Pain at the injection site
- Fever, chills, sweating, dizziness, headache
- Muscle aches and pains
- Joint Pain
- Loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain
- Irritability
- Fatigue
- Rash
Contraindication:
- Allergy to other vaccines or hypersensitivity to vaccines and medications
- Please inform your medical professionals if you are or suspect you may be pregnant and breastfeeding mothers
