Shoulder pain has many causes, from an injury or fall to wear and tear or problems with the rotator cuff tendons. Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) causes marked stiffness and pain when moving the arm in any direction. It usually comes on gradually, gets worse, and then slowly improves, which can take up to two years.
Physiotherapy helps ease pain, restore movement and strength, and keep you using your arm for daily life while the shoulder recovers.
