What is PCV20?
PCV20 is a pneumococcal vaccine that protects against 20 types of pneumococcal bacteria, a common cause of pneumonia, blood infections and meningitis. It covers seven more types than the older PCV13 vaccine.
Who is it recommended for?
Since 1 September 2025, PCV20 has been on Singapore’s National Adult Immunisation Schedule for:
- adults aged 65 and over
- adults aged 18 to 64 at higher risk, such as people with long-term heart, lung, kidney or liver conditions, diabetes, or a weakened immune system
It is given as a single dose.
Already had PCV13 or PPSV23?
Speak to our doctor. Adults aged 65 and over who have completed both PCV13 and PPSV23 generally don’t need PCV20, but your doctor will check your history.
